Lakene Farm is located in Klarälvdalen, north of Karlstad in Värmland, and we have almost as close to Gothenburg, Stockholm and Oslo in Norway. Thus, approximately 320 km.

Perhaps patting the newly born lambs and foals, or why not feed the chickens, will simple make your day.

Some farm history

Lakene Farm goes far back into the history of Värmland. The first time it is mentioned is in the beginning of the 1600´s. In the beginning of the 1900´s it was one of the biggest dairy farms of the region holding 60 cows. A production like that would represent 400 cows these days.

Today Lakene Farm offers a broad variety of activities and accommodation. The farm is located near the the lake Lakenesjön on the beautiful countryside of the province Värmland in the middle of Sweden. The old agriculture farm has been lovingly kept in its authentic state, presenting a warm and unique atmosphere to our guests.

Lakene Farm today

Our single and double rooms as well as the guest kitchen are all located in the farms old stables. The reception, breakfast area and café are to be found in the old cow shed. Right outside where the dung heap for the cows used to be is now a cosy little garden with tables for guests of the café, or anybody else that would like to sit and sniff the sweet fragrance of flowers and wistfully imagine days long since past.

Trillan

We also have a small apartment named "Trillan". It has got a spacious double room, private shower and toilet as well as a combined kitchen and TV lounge with a fold out sofa bed.

On the premises there is also a wildlife camping ground and availability to park camper vans.

Activities at the farm

The horses are one of the bigger attractions at Lakene Farm, but we offer many kinds of other adventures too. Wild animals tracking, beaver safaris, exciting conference packages, birthday parties - you name it!

There is a large number of different fishing waters in the area surrounding our farm. Lakes, ponds, rivers and streams offer a big variety of fish to be caught. Fishing cards are available at our reception, so there is no need to worry about permits. The shores of Lakenesjön are good for fishing and also for swimming when the water is warm. For those wanting to be afloat for a while there are boats available for hire.

Stay for a night when passing through on your way to other locations, or linger for a while and take part in one or several of the different activities we have to offer. The deep forests surrounding our farm are great to explore by foot, bike, horse back or even while sitting comfortably in a horse drawn carriage! Both winters and summers with us will give you a wonderful experience and dear memories.
